- Gagging and/or vomiting
- Loss of appetite
More severe symptoms are:
- Nasal discharge
- Fever
- Cough that produces phlegm
- Depression

Most pet boarding establishments require that you have your pet vaccinated within the last 6 months prior to boarding. If your pets do not have exposure to other animals then vaccination would probably not be required.
Some people have described kennel cough as similar to a cold in humans. As you would for catching colds practice good hygiene when around a dog or cat with kennel cough. Good hygiene includes hand washing and preventing yourself from kissing your pet on the mouth.
There are some home remedies for treatment of kennel cough both in adult dogs and puppies. Two of these home remedies are use of plantago lanceolata which is a herbal remedy that has been reported to expel mucus. Another treatment is with Bryonia C6 which is purported to clear mucus and to also soothe dry throat membranes. Cough syrups (Pediatric Robitussin)may also be used especially in puppies.
Antibiotics are often times used by the vet in treating kennel cough.

7 1/2 month old son is sick =[?
my son had a fever since yesterday morning...around 101.4. i am giving him .05 robitussin cold and cough pediatric every 6 hours and .08 motrin for fever. i have the humidifier on in his bedroom and rubbed vicks on his chest but barely has slept and eaten. salene drops are given as well. i think im doing everything i can think of to help the lil dude out. his nose goes from very runny to dry. his mouth is dry as well. he has a tiny sneeze too. barely eats. called the pediatrician and im doing everything he told me to do already. doesnt really want to give him any prescriptions which i understand. my only other option is take him to the er since my dr. is closed sundays. anybody have any other suggestions...?

my grandson who is 15 mos old was the same way... he was so miserable and my daughter took him to ER yesterday afternoon, they told her the same thing like what you have done for your baby. There isnt really anything you can do except try to make him comfortable.
Perhaps, you should try "steam" bathroom by turning the shower on hot water and sit with him on the floor for about 15 mins. Be sure to have the shower curtain closed so you two wont get burn from water splash.
Be sure to give him plenty to drink (no formula since he has a fever). Give him pedialyte or juice.
