Cetirizine hydrochloride drug reduce the production of natural chemical known as histamine in the body. When this chemical (Histamine) is produced it causes disorder like sneezing problem, itchy feeling, watery-eyes and excessive formation of liquid in the nose that cause runny nose so this medication reduces the histamine and helps to prevent this condition related to histamine. This medication is also used for the treatment of swelling or itchiness caused due to hives. This medication can also be used for different condition that is not mentioned in this medicinal direction. Generally this medication is used along with pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, and decongestant drug.
How should I take this medication?
Cetirizine hcl medication is available in the form of liquid or chewable tablet. Chew the chewable table before swallowing it. The liquid should be measured to ensure that you are taking the right amount of medicine. Use dose-measuring devices to take care of it. Consult your doctor if you experience any uncommon or side effects. This medication should be used as per the dosage and the frequency suggested by the doctor. Beside this, this medication may also cause allergic reaction such as hives, breathing problem, swollen tongue or throat, swollen face or lips, hives,searing or cracking skin and burning sensation.
What precautions do I need to follow while using Cetirizine?
Patient using this medication should be careful while driving or works that require alertness or concentration as this medication may cause the side effect which may impair the ability to think and concentrate.
